Cotton Fields News - March 2010
Artrageous Quilters meet here at Cotton Fields at 11 am on March 6 to reveal the results
of our year long "Black and White Transformed" quilt challenge and our sweatshirt jacket garment challenge.
All visitors are welcome. It should be fun AND inspiring!
We had a great time during the shop hop in February! The grand
prize winner is MELBA BOYD! The shop with the most votes for favorite quilt was the Quilted Butterfly. The winners
list is on the shop hop page (see the left-hand menu.) We're planning our next hop for February 2 through
5, 2011.
So, what else is new?
The Greenville Quilters Guild is holding their 30th anniversary quilt show
"A String of Pearls" on Friday and Saturday, March 19 and 20 at the First Christian Church, 2810 E. 14th Street,
Greenville. Friday hours are 10 to 4:30, Saturday hours are 10 to 4. Hope you can come!!
Spectacular big and bright floral prints from P & B Textiles. Lovely tone
on tone coordinates, too.
Garden Song is here.....This is a beautiful
collection from Benartex that will put you in the mood for spring with pastel flowers and textures.
There is a panel and 36 other fabrics in this collection and you will be able to make the many, many fun projects in the Nancy
Halvorsen book "Sew Necessary".
The fourth installment of Kona
Bay's "Textile Pearls of Japan" has just arrived. One of the designs this time features flying cranes
on dark backgrounds and the other is a beautiful floral. Each design comes in two color ways.
VERY BEGINNING QUILTING begins February
9. We will meet on Tuesday nights for six weeks from 7 to 9 pm. $40
plus supplies. This course covers the basics of accurate cutting and piecing as we work on a small project.
Limited space available so that everyone gets personal attention. FULL (another session will be
offered late spring).
