Cotton Fields News - Dec. 2008 & Jan. 2009 Please take note of our holiday closings... we will be closed for Christmas from Wednesday, Dec. 24 through Monday, Dec. 29. We will re-open on Tuesday, Dec. 30. NEW YEAR'S DAY - Come and join us for our annual New Year's Day open house. We will be open (even though it is a Thursday!!!) from 10 until 4. Come see new items that have just arrived, enter a drawing for a Cotton Fields gift certificate, and enjoy food and fellowship with some of your fellow quilters. Wouldn't you like to get away from the football for a little while? Oh, did I forget to mention that there would be some specials? We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the next Benartex group, Cider Mill Road. We have received the books and the towels, now all we need is the fabric to get started. Cotton Fields Gift Certificates are always great gifts Schedule Jan. 12 - Beginning Quilting. This class will meet on the 2nd and 4th Monday afternoons of Jan., Feb., and March from 1 to 3 pm. Cost is $40 plus supplies. Spaces limited. Jan. 24 - It's a Wrap. Learn to make fabric bowls on your sewing machine! Easy and fun. This is an encore class; the one we held in Oct was a huge success. Taught by Debby McCullough. $20 plus supplies. Feb. 4 through 7 - 4th Romancing Eastern NC Shop Hop. Passports are on sale NOW for only $5. It's four days of fun and fabric. See our Shop Hop page for more details. This 'N That Girls' Night Out - From 7 to 9 pm, always the 2nd Friday night of the month. The next dates are Jan. 9 and Feb. 13. Bring small things to work on and/or show and tell. Sit and visit with some quilting friends. QWAC's - Quilting Women Acting Crazy! We meet on Friday afternoons at about 1 pm. It's a lot of fun with quilting friends sharing patterns, snacks and more. Come join us some time. Artrageous Fiber Art - Artrageous Quilters meet the first Saturday of the month, usually at Cotton Fields. Call ahead and check on times and the month's program. This group is open to anyone with an interest in exploring new directions in fiber art. Machine Quilting Service - Lilly Lucier comes to Cotton Fields on the 4th Tuesday of each month to pick up and deliver quilts. She offers a large variety of quilting patterns and has over 17 years experience. Quilt Shows - Cotton Fields had a vendors booth at both the Durham/Orange and Twin Rivers quilt shows in Oct. Check the menu at the left for a peek at some of the things we saw in Durham and New Bern. Our next scheduled quilt show is in Elizabeth City next April 18 and 19.
